When you have a home designed and built, it’s important that the home be user friendly for all ages. A user friendly home is a comfortable home. One that is livable, usable, and well loved. A home that will ensure many years of comfortable, safe living today and tomorrow.
Some items we consider for a user friendly home:
Lighting
At your request, we will install under cabinet lighting in your kitchen and washrooms to ensure bright lighting in work space. As a standard practice, we place lights in bedroom and entry closets.
Durable Hardware
We use fully adjustable European style hinges and slides in our cabinetry to ensure many years of maintenance free use.
Additional Conduit
There may come a time when you wish to add to the electrical aspect of your home by introducing additional lighting, sound etc. We always incorporate 2 lengths of 2” conduit from your mechanical room into your attic to allow for future wiring.
Plugs for Festive Lighting
We wire plugs into the soffiting of our homes for decorative and festive lighting.
Hot and Cold Hose Bib
Each Sonbuilt home comes with a hot and cold water hose bib in or near the garage.
Solid Doors
We suggest the use of solid core interior doors for optimal sound proofing and durability. Bi-fold closet doors don’t typically exist in a Sonbuilt home. We use swing doors for our closets to maximize accessibility and minimize maintenance.
Address Sign
We install a lighted address sign on the front of your home so visitors who arrive after dark can see which home is yours.
